Thrust SSC Amalgam Collection 1:18 scale model
Thrust SSC is a British supersonic jet car which was developed by Richard Noble,
Glynne Bowsher, Ron Ayers, Reece Liebenberg, Joshua Hambury and Jeremy Bliss. Thrust SSC currently holds the world land speed record of 763 mph (1,1228 km/h), which was set on 15th October 1997 and is the only car to officially break the sound barrier.
The car is 16.5 meters long, 3.7 meters wide and weights almost 10 tons. From its two jet engines it produces a total of 223 kN of thrust which equates to around 102,000 bhp. Thrust SSC and its predecessor Thrust2 are on display at the Coventry Transport Museum in Coventry, UK.
