Description

Original Ferrari 125 signage from the very first car in Tom Wheatcroft’s 1973 Donington collection

MM is delighted to offer this original signwritten wooden plaque that hung above the Ferrari 125 in the Donington Collection when the museum first opened to the public in 1973.

The car itself was the first acquired as the basis of the collection by Tom Wheatcroft in 1964.

The signage was used until the extension and makeover of the museum in the mid 1990s and was in storage subsequently. The collection grew to c130 exhibits, the largest of its type in the world, and Tom fulfilled his life ambition to host an F1 race at Donington in 1993. Tom passed away In 2009 and after the circuit was sold to MSV, the collection closed its doors on November 5th 2018.

This is a wonderful piece of history from the finest F1 collection in the world.
