Motorsport Memorabilia is privileged to offer a rarely available Nardi steering wheel from the 1994 McLaren MP4/9 as driven by future double McLaren World Champion, Mika Hakkinen.

Hakkinen adopted the ‘flat top’ design used by his mentor Ayrton Senna in the 1993 season, whilst team mate Martin Brundle used a smaller diameter circular wheel. This example is McLaren factory engraved with its 94 year serial number to the rear, retains its radio button and features white stitching to the suede grip.

It features Shell, Peugeot and Nardi logos and blanking bolts where the switch plates and gearchange paddles were originally mounted. In common with other McLaren presentation steering wheels, this example is framed in high gloss black with a grey velour mount.

Interesting footnote : Mika Hakkinen was presented with his McLaren race debut steering wheel used at Estoril 1993. It is similarly framed / presented to the piece we have with pride of place in his Monaco office.
