McLaren F1, A Professional Photograph Of XP5, World Production Speed Record Car
This fantastic original 1998 high-quality photo printed professional press photograph measures 50x40cm and depicts K8 MCL, the 5th experimental prototype McLaren f1 that secured the world production car speed record at Ehra – Lessien on 31st March 1998 driven by Andy Wallace at 240.1 mph.
The photograph, taken by Colin Curwood, shows XP5 at rest in the evening sunlight. It is mounted in grey and framed in white together with one of the original celebration plaques that were commissioned by Ron Dennis and given to owners of the road cars to mount above the chassis plate in the cockpit.
This unique piece is ready to hang and is accompanied by a letter from the McLaren senior who had this in his personal collection for 23 years as well as a Goodwood Kennels letterhead hand-signed by four of the key people in the project, namely: Andy Wallace (driver), Ron Dennis (CEO), Gordon Murray (designer) and Peter Stevens (stylist).
