Description
Framed Sebring 1970 Full Set of Passes / Steve McQueen Display
Motorsport Memorabilia offers this incredibly rare and perfectly preserved complete set of testing, garage, paddock and entry passes from the legendary Sebring 12 hours endurance race of 1970. The passes and event badge are display mounted with photographs of Steve McQueen from the event.
Whilst the race was won when Mario Andretti’s Ferrari passed the chequered flag in first place, it will forever be remembered for the 3 litre class win and second place overall finish of the Porsche 908 driven by Steve McQueen (with his leg in plaster) and Peter Revson.
Indeed, Revson was only overtaken by Andretti on the final lap – the Solar Productions Porsche 908/02 was destined to take 1st but with only 1 lap to go Andretti stormed out of the pits and chased down Revson, and at the end of the 5.2-mile lap Andretti crossed the line first, with Revson second.
A racing film script waiting to be produced? Perhaps, but in the meantime this mounted McQueen presentation will grace the wall of any serious collector. With some cosmetic damage to the standard 30x40cm frame frame, this item can be dispatched simply mounted ready for the buyer to reframe.
