European Grand Prix 1993 : race day ticket signed by Ayrton Senna and Martin Brundle
We are delighted to offer this race day ticket for the 1993 European Grand Prix, hand signed by both Martin Brundle and Ayrton Senna in black sharpie.
The late Tom Wheatcroft achieved his lifelong dream of bringing a Formula 1 Grand Prix to the Donington Park circuit that he acquired, holding the race over the 1993 Easter Bank Holiday weekend. At the time, nobody knew this would be Prost’s swansong season before his 4th WDC title and retirement, or that Senna only had a year of his life remaining.
The weather gods decided that this would be no ordinary race, with monsoon conditions that led to what has been described as a “lap of the gods”, “pure genius” and “the greatest single lap n F1 history” by F1 officianados. Namely, Ayrton Senna’s drive to first place on lap 1 in his underpowered Cosworth Ford McLaren, overtaking Wendlinger, Schumacher, Hill and Prost through conditions that would result in a cancellation or delay nowadays. He went on to win the race ahead of future team mate, Damon Hill, by 1 minute and 23 seconds, having lapped every other driver in the field!
This superb hand signed piece is sold unframed in order that the buyer can frame or display it at their discretion either individually or as a part of a larger display.
