Cooper T51 Steering Wheel
We are delighted to offer this beautiful hand built continuation steering wheel. This piece was commissioned for a high end Crosthwaite and Gardner restoration but was not used.
It has been made to exacting standards and original specification by Springall. The wheel features correct maroon leather and white stitching, etched alloy Cooper centre badge with rivet construction and six holes for the period boss mount. The wheel can be mounted with a central upper spoke or central lower spoke layout depending on instrument configuration.
The Cooper T51 was the first rear engined car to win the Formula 1 World Championship in the hands of Jack Brabham in 1959. He repeated the feat in 1960.
