Ayrton Senna 1985 Lotus 97T front wing end with Lotus COA
We are delighted to invite serious offers for this wonderful right hand front wing end plate from the Lotus Renault 97T driven by Ayrton Senna in 1985.
Manufactured in carbon fibre, painted black to the outside and signwritten with the full JPS (John Player Special) logo and edging pinstripe, it is hand marked “Set 10 97/2” to the inside bare carbon face.
Most importantly, this piece has undoubted provanance having been acquired direct from Classic Team Lotus. It is accompanied by a full COA hand signed by Clive Chapman confirming its originality. There is also a Classic Team Lotus registration plate engraved with specific details affixed to the inside of the piece.
The 1985 Lotus 97T was the car in which Senna secured his maiden race win at Estoril in monsoon conditions on April 21st 1985 and remains a landmark car. The Estoril winning chassis itself is owned to this day by Classic Team Lotus and has been run at Interlagos and Goodwood driven by Ayrton’s nephew, Bruno Senna.
