1990s FIA Scrutineers Ceramic Tool Used To Check F1 Fuel Filler Dimension
NOW SOLD
A fantastic and unique item engineered in ceramic to the exact dimension of the fuel filler neck dating from the 1990s when refuelling was permitted.
These tools were used at spot checks and pre-race scrutineering by Jo Bauer and the late Charlie Whiting. This example is understood to have been presented rather tongue in cheek to the Benetton team after the 1994 season when Jos Verstappen’s car caught fire during a pit stop at Hockenheim.
We are presenting this piece ‘as is’ but it could be readily mounted to a base as a pen holder.
