As the 2021 Formula 1 car launches commence, we showcase a superb original Mika Hakkinen McLaren piece, a colourful pairing of Leyton House items and some glorious memorabilia that will soon be featured in our new “Historics” section.
We are delighted to have consigned for sale a superb used original Mika Hakkinen McLaren steering wheel from the 1994 season when the team ran Peugeot engines. This steering wheel is engraved with the McLaren production serial number to the rear and has Shell, Peugeot and Nardi markings to the front, bearing signs of use. Original McLaren car parts from this era are rarely available to market.
Meantime, as the legendary Mario Andretti celebrates his 81st birthday, we showcase a beautiful signed replica of his 1994 IndyCar Bell M3 helmet from his “Arrivederci 94” season. A wonderful helmet for any collection.
Whilst the world awaits the new Aston Martin F1 livery to be revealed, we have on offer a pair of items from one of the most iconic liveried teams ever seen in F1, the turquoise Leyton House March squad. The original carbon fibre front wing end from the 871 car is accompanied by an unused Shoei GRV visor.
Next we have a superb bust of the legendary 1962 and 1965 World Champion and 1965 Indy 500 winner, Jim Clark. Jim was arguably the most versatile driver in history and this bust is a wonderful likeness of the quiet Scotsman in thoughtful mood with his trademark goggles draped around his neck.
We also feature a beautiful signed and framed photograph of “Mr Motor Racing”, the late Sir Stirling Moss, dedicated rather poignantly “Ciao”.
Obtained directly from the enthusiastic fan who spent a day in the paddock at Oulton Park in 1969, we have a fantastic multiple signed programme from that years Gold Cup non-championship F1 event including original autographs of Colin Chapman, Jack Brabham, Jochen Rindt, Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, Mike Hailwood, Jackie Ickx and Innes Ireland. Superb.
From the 2005 Pau Historic Grand Prix event, we have the winners medal awarded to Duncan Dayton.
Lastly this week, from the birthplace of Motorsport and Aviation in the UK, a wonderful display of three reproduction Brooklands Aero Club enamel badges.
