As the first of the 2021 car launches commences, we have some exciting new collectibles to showcase this week.
First, the silver plated cigarette box presented to Phil Hill at the 1961 British Grand Prix at Aintree. With enamel Scuderia Ferrari logo and inscription, this piece is a unique opportunity to acquire a personal Ferrari World Championship season item from the first American F1 World Champion.
To the current day, we have a Pirelli podium cap hand signed by the winner of the penultimate round of the 2020 F1 season, Sergio “Checo” Perez. Signed at the Racing point factory after his maiden win at Sakhir, it is annotated “#1”. Perhaps a signal of intent for his red Bull season this year.
From the fateful 1994 season we offer a race used and hand signed visor from Benetton”s JJ Lehto. Lehto stalled on the grid at Imola in 1994, triggering the fateful series of events that ended with Senna’s fatal crash. Lehto went on to win at Le Mans in the McLaren GTR a year later in McLaren’s debut race at La Sarthe.
From a former McLaren team member, we have a test used Bell visor from the 2000 season hand signed by the winner of the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix, Olivier Panis.
Meanwhile, we hope that Fernando Alonso makes a speedy recovery after his cycling accident whilst preparing for his return to F1 with Alpine. For the Alonso fan we have Fernando’s race suit from Melbourne 2009, fully authenticated by a former team senior.
For the BTCC fan, we have a race winning trophy from one of the absolute legends of World Touring Cars and BTCC, Yvan Muller. This large trophy was presented to Yvan at Donington Park in 2005 before he became four times FIA WTCC Champion.
This George Harrison Mclaren Paddock Pass is a very collectable piece of memorabilia history remembering the late great Beatle George Harrison. His VIP pass as a guest of Ron Dennis and Team McLaren at the Portuguese Grand Prix at Estoril in 1996. George was well known for his keen interest in Formula One.
