Sunday 18th June 2023
As the teams prepare for the transatlantic crossing for the Canadian GP on June 18th, we reflect on events of the Spanish GP weekend. A resurgent performance from the Mercedes team and the sidepod laden W14 was welcome, whilst Ferrari’s fortunes remain mixed. Nobody predicted Lando Norris to line up third on the grid, but McLaren’s Saturday glory faded on lap one come Sunday. Sergio Perez drove a solid race but talk of a title challenge seems to be fading fast as Max Verstappen drove from a commanding pole to an imperious win, with fastest lap too.
Next weekend is Father’s Day and we have two new pieces in stock from none other than Max Verstappen’s father : an Arai visor hand signed by Jos and a Honda 1999 prototype 1/43 model hand signed by both father and son.
Damon Hill was the first son of a previous WDC to win a title and we are delighted to offer his hand signed visor from the one off appearance driving demo laps in a Red Bull Renault at Catalunya in 2012 as well as a 1994 Silverstone British Grand Prix boxed paperweight hand signed by Damon as race winner.
Damon’s feat was matched by Nico Rosberg in 2016 and we have a superb framed and hand signed image of his father Keke, as well as a race used pair of Nico’s Williams gloves available.
Mick Schumacher is now Mercedes test driver, whilst we can offer a superb replica of his father’s 2010 Mercedes race helmet and a framed autograph of Michael, supplied with a giclee canvas print of his Ferrari taking the chequered flag in 2000.
Thanks,
Tim Scott
