Since we started MM in 2019, in addition to some incredible Formula 1 related pieces, we have also handled the sale of some museum quality collectibles relating to the McLaren F1 / GTR / LM / GT roadcar project.
The Gordon Murray designed car was launched 34 years ago in Monaco and with only 64 road going examples produced, they are now valued upwards of US$20m! Seen by many as the ultimate ever car with a carbon chassis, normally aspirated BMW V12, the weight of a Ford Fiesta and footprint of a Porsche Boxster, parts from these cars and associated ephemera such as owners manuals and brochures have become highly collectible.
We are delighted to offer for the first time to market a fantastic selection of parts that have been in the private collection of one of the original employees for over 30 years, including unrepeatable pieces from chassis XP5, still owned to this day by McLaren.
These include a steering wheel with carbon centre, titanium pedal set, a chassis plate, bespoke key and rear badge from the LM edition (only 5 made), a set of custom titanium spanners by Facom, Carbon dash panel, wheel nut and various display mounted badges.
These parts are exceptionally rare and will grace any serious collection.
Happy browsing!
Thanks,
Tim
