Keke Rosberg 1984 Stand 21 race suit from the archive of Jean-Pierre Jabouille
MM are delighted to be offering selected pieces from the archive of the late Jean-Pierre Jabouille, whose diverse racing career included the very first F1 Grand Prix victory in a turbocharged car with Renault through to multiple LeMans podiums and succeeding Jean Todd as the head of Peugeot Sport when they were active in WSC and F1 as engine suppliers to McLaren and Jordan.
This race suit comes direct from Jean-Pierre’s archive although we do not know how it ended up there! The suit dates from the mid 1980s and was made to measure for Keke Rosberg by Stand 21, but does not have sponsors logos applied. It is of the exact type used by Keke driving for Williams in 1984, in yellow, with red expansion panels and the drivers name applied to the chest, but is bereft of the Record / Marlboro / ICI / Finnair / Finnmade patches.
Perhaps used by Jean-Pierre in testing or given to him by Keke, we will never know? However, a superb genuine race suit from the 1982 Formula1 World Champion.
