Hesketh 308 Dutch GP Cosworth DFV piston assembly ex James Hunt (race winner)

This Ford Cosworth DFV piston and conrod was removed from the Hesketh 308 driven by James Hunt to victory at the 1975 Dutch GP in Zandvoort. It was gifted to the vendor who was a friend of the team and has retained it for the last 50 years.

It is mounted on a wooden base with felt pad underneath. Sadly the plaque that was mounted to it has been lost in the last 50 years but the piston retains its markings.

A superb piece raced by the 1976 Formula 1 World Champion.
