Jody Scheckter Tyrrell 007 1975 Silverstone crash damaged nose
We are delighted to offer this crash damaged nose section from Jody Scheckter’s Tyrrell 007 Cosworth Ford DFV Formula 1 car that was damaged at Woodcote corner, Silverstone at the1975 British GP.
Scheckter had a magnetic attrraction to the catch fencing that once surrounded the outside of Woodcote, having also been at the centre of a huge accident in 1973.
This crash damaged nose section was discarded by Tyrrell, but rescued by the vendor after the race (with Ken Tyrrell’s consent). It was trimmed for garage display, where it has remained for 50 years before now being offered to market for the first time.
Jody Scheckter went on to become World Champion with Ferrari in 1979, whilst his Tyrrell 007 is now on display in a private museum in Franschhoek, South Africa.
