Formula One returns after its summer break this weekend at the circuit of banked turn and dunes at Zandvoort.

We have some fantastic new pieces added to stock including a 2008 Renault F1 promotional helmet of Fernando Alonso, painted by his original helmet artist and used by the team for sponsor activities. A really great item.

Also from a former Renault Senior, we have a championship winning season steering wheel used by Fernando Alonso driving the R 26 to win the 2006 title. This was retired at the end of that season and subsequently used by the test and Sim team and comes with additional electronics that enable gear change reaction times and start line reaction times to be measured. A one off.

Also from Fernando, we have a white Aston Martin team cap signed by the double world champion.

Whilst Ferrari have their woes at present, we should not lose sight of the fact they are lying in second place in the constructors table. In 1996, Michael Schumacher joins the team and started the process of building a dominant force, taking victories against the odds. From the Belgian Grand Prix that year, we have one of his mechanic’s Cerruti 1881 shirt that has been beautifully signed across the rear yoke by Michael. Francesco Uguzzoni went on to become chief mechanic in later years.

Also celebrating Michael Schumacher at Ferrari we have a very rare carbon fibre handmade casket box with an original race used valve and Ferrari certificate, complete with a Ferrari promotional watch. From his earlier times at Benetton we have an official signed promo card from the 1992 season where he scored his first race win, and an original spare united colours of Benetton race suit patch.

Other race pieces recently added include a TAG Saudia Williams paddock jacket from the early 80s, a matching umbrella, a piston from Alan Jones world championship winning Williams Cosworth DFV and a matched pair of forward rear wing end plates from Keke Rosberg’s 1984 Williams.

We have some other very special pieces due to land on the website in the middle of September. Please keep an eye out for these spectacular arrivals.

Thanks,

Tim
