Last week as the F1 family headed off to the Sakhir Circuit in Bahrain, I wonder how many of us would have expected a straightforward race weekend, Lewis winning, Max second and Valterri most likely third.
How wrong we were when no sooner had the Grand Prix started, we witnessed the horrendous accident which befell Romain Grosjean, how did he escape from that inferno, somebody must have been smiling on him from above last Sunday afternoon.
Lap 2 of the restarted race and Daniil Kvyat and Lance Stroll had a coming together and Lance ended upside down, luckily no injuries but a bad day all round for Racing Point.
So this week George Russell steps up to drive Lewis’s car, Jack Aitken debuts his F1 career in the Williams and Pietro Fittipaldi, the grandson of the legendary Emerson Fittipaldi drives for Haas, we wish them all good luck.
